OSSCA is sharing information about a one-day women’s college recruiting event that we’re hosting on July 11th at Historic Crew Stadium. We’re consistently reminded about how vitally important the college soccer pathway is for players and how challenging it can be to stand out in a crowded marketplace. Additionally, we’re hyper the route to the women’s professional game runs directly through college. This event is designed as a precursor to this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup and is meant to celebrate the aspiring college players within our region, while connecting them directly with college coaches of all levels. We’re excited for you to be able to share this with your HS-aged girls programs, players and families.
Below are the details of the event:
- Date: Tuesday, July 11th
- Time: 9:30am – 6:30pm
- Location: Historic Crew Stadium (formerly Mapfre Stadium) – 1 Black & Gold Blvd, Columbus, OH
- Number of Players: We’ll cap the event at only 90 players (82 field players + 8 GKs) to allow for maximum visibility for each player
- Age of Players: Current and rising high school-aged female players + any players heading into gap year
Registration:
The below event registration link will be filled on a first come first serve basis
This event registration link is for both field players & goalkeepers (limited to only 8 GKs)
Day/Event Schedule:
- Short training/activation session (+ GK training) run by college coaches
- Small-sided games
- Lunch & college talk
- 11v11 games
- College Coaches’ Selection All-Star 11v11 game
Colleges Registered to Attend (17 colleges are currently registered – including NCAA D1, D2, D3 and NAIA programs):
Bowling Green, Western Michigan, Alderson Broaddus, Gannon, Findlay, Seton Hill, Tiffin, Baldwin Wallace, Bethany, Berea, Bluffton, Heidelberg, Kenyon, Ohio Wesleyan, Otterbein, Wittenberg, Lourdes
Cost:
$219 is the listed price
Cost includes an individually numbered shirt to wear during the event, lunch on site, and tactical film from the event
Post Event:
Each player in attendance will receive the Spiideo tactical film to add to their highlight clips to send to additional college coaches.
Talent ID & Development for the Modern High School Coach

Introducing the Talent ID & Development for the Modern High School Coach Special Topics Diploma, being delivered in Strongsville, Ohio, on July 21-22, 2023.
This unique course will address the identification and development of talent as it pertains to the modern high school coach. Specific emphasis will be placed on girls between the ages of 14 to 17 that high school coaches encounter.

PAUL BOLL SELECTED TO OSSCA HALL OF FAME

Former 2013 Pinsenschaum Winner Coached Wheelerburg for 29 Years
Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA), is proud to announce the selection of long-time Wheelersburg Soccer Head Coach, Paul Boll, into the OSSCA Hall of Fame.
Boll is a former Ron Pinsenschaum Award Winner (2013). The Ron Pinsenschaum Award is highest honor given to a coach of a male team by the OSSCA. He has been honored by the South East Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (SEOSSCA) as their district coach of the year six times. He has been named league (Southern Ohio Conference) coach of the year 10 times.
On the field, Boll was the head coach of Wheelersburg since 1986 before retiring in 2015. His career record is 400-102-41. His team finished as Regional Runner-Up in 1994. During his tenure at Wheelersburg, he has captured 14 league titles and seven District Championships.
The Portsmouth, Ohio native has produced 15 District Players of the Year and 14 All-Region Selections. Boll, a graduate of Ohio University, has spent his entire career as a science teacher. He holds a Master of Education Degree from Miami University.
Not only has Boll been a successful coach but has been a servant to Ohio high school soccer as well. Boll served as a State Poll voter for 20 years. As President of SEOSSCA for 15 years (1995-2010), he sat on the OSSCA State Board.
Boll is married and has five children, Shawn, Brenda, Sarah, Jessica and Matthew. He coached each one at Wheelersburg. He has 11 grandchildren.
Boll will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame at the OSSCA yearly banquet in Columbus, on January 7th.
JOHN GUILIANO SELECTED TO OSSCA HALL OF FAME

Longtime Beavercreek Head Coach Won State Championship in 2017
Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA), is proud to announce the selection of long-time Beavercreek Soccer Head Boys Soccer Coach, John Guiliano, into the OSSCA Hall of Fame.
Guiliano retired from coaching two years ago. He faithfully served Beavercreek High School for 35 years as a soccer coach, with 30 as their boys head coach and five years as their junior varsity coach. He was a member of the OSSCA for 32 years.
On the field, Guiliano stood fifth all-time (at the time of his nomination) in OHSAA history with 427 wins. His career record is 427-110-85. After nearly 30 years of coaching, Beavercreek won the 2017 State Championship in overtime at Mapfre Stadium. During his tenure at Beavercreek, he has captured 16 league titles, 11 District Championships, and went to seven OHSAA Final Fours.
The Manhattan, New York native attended Sewanka High School in New York, where he was a varsity letter winner in soccer. Collegiately, he graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology where he played varsity soccer as well.
Not only was Guiliano is legendary coach, but was a servant to high school soccer as well. Guiliano consistently volunteered for the Miami Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association as All-Star Game coordinator and at local district meetings.
Guiliano has four children, Jason (Current Head Coach at Beavercreek), Teri, Jenny and Sean.
Guiliano will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame at the OSSCA yearly banquet in Columbus, on January 7th.

38 Year Veteran Official Has Led OHSAA Rules Interpretation For Over 25 Years
Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA), is proud to announce the selection of long-time OHSAA Soccer Rules Interpreter, Don Muenz, into the OSSCA Hall of Fame.
Muenz has been a high school soccer official for 38 years. Since 1996, he has served as the chief rules interpreter for all OHSAA soccer officials. The two-term president of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Officials Association (OCSOA) was named him as one of Ohio’s Top 100 Soccer Leaders by Major League Soccer (MLS) when the Columbus Crew hosted the All-Star Match in 2000. He has dedicated his career to making the high school soccer game better for his fellow referees, coaches and the players. He has been a long-time servant of the game.
Collegiately, Muenz has also refereed in the NCAA as a regional referee, and even officiated one national championship match.
Muenz has refereed over 20 OHSAA State Tournament matches and sits on the NFHS (National Federation of High School Federations) for rules interpretation and writing.
Muenz will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame at the OSSCA yearly banquet in Columbus, on January 7th.
