North Central District Sr. All-Star Game

The 2012 Sr. All-Star games were held on November 18th at Perkins High School. Thanks to Juan Romero who organized and hosted the games again this year. We were blessed with a beautiful day, lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 50’s.

 

The Girls played the first game. The “Home” team (White Jerseys) were coached by James Igneczi (Norwalk Girls Coach). The “Away” team (Dark Jerseys) were coached by Paco Romero (Port Clinton Boys/Girls Coach). The game was an evenly matched contest with the White Jerseys team prevailing in the end by a score of 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Amber Burnette (Oak Harbor). The fans in attendance got the opportunity to vote for the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game.

-          Offensive Player of the Game:  Anna Battig         (Wooster)

-          Defensive Player of the Game:  Becca Cornell     (Ashland)

 

 

The Boys played next. The “Home” team (White Jerseys) were coached by Steve Seaman (Loudonville Boys Coach). The “Away” Team (Dark Jerseys) were coached by Paco Romero (Port Clinton Boys/Girls Coach). This game was evenly matched as well for the first half with both goalies making some terrific saves which resulted in a 0-0 halftime score. The second half produced more excitement with the 5 goals being scored and the Dark Jerseys taking the match by a score of 4-1. Jon Brown (Port Clinton) tallied 3 goals for the winning team with Zack Tanzillo (Norwalk) adding the 4th goal. Bryon Logan (Perkins) scored the lone goal for the White Jerseys.
