JOHN GUILIANO SELECTED TO OSSCA HALL OF FAME

Longtime Beavercreek Head Coach Won State Championship in 2017

Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA), is proud to announce the selection of long-time Beavercreek Soccer Head Boys Soccer Coach, John Guiliano, into the OSSCA Hall of Fame.

Guiliano retired from coaching two years ago. He faithfully served Beavercreek High School for 35 years as a soccer coach, with 30 as their boys head coach and five years as their junior varsity coach. He was a member of the OSSCA for 32 years.

On the field, Guiliano stood fifth all-time (at the time of his nomination) in OHSAA history with 427 wins. His career record is 427-110-85. After nearly 30 years of coaching, Beavercreek won the 2017 State Championship in overtime at Mapfre Stadium. During his tenure at Beavercreek, he has captured 16 league titles, 11 District Championships, and went to seven OHSAA Final Fours.

The Manhattan, New York native attended Sewanka High School in New York, where he was a varsity letter winner in soccer. Collegiately, he graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology where he played varsity soccer as well.

Not only was Guiliano is legendary coach, but was a servant to high school soccer as well. Guiliano consistently volunteered for the Miami Valley Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association as All-Star Game coordinator and at local district meetings.

Guiliano has four children, Jason (Current Head Coach at Beavercreek), Teri, Jenny and Sean.

Guiliano will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame at the OSSCA yearly banquet in Columbus, on January 7th.

PAUL BOLL SELECTED TO OSSCA HALL OF FAME

Former 2013 Pinsenschaum Winner Coached Wheelerburg for 29 Years

Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA), is proud to announce the selection of long-time Wheelersburg Soccer Head Coach, Paul Boll, into the OSSCA Hall of Fame.

Boll is a former Ron Pinsenschaum Award Winner (2013). The Ron Pinsenschaum Award is highest honor given to a coach of a male team by the OSSCA. He has been honored by the South East Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (SEOSSCA) as their district coach of the year six times. He has been named league (Southern Ohio Conference) coach of the year 10 times.

On the field, Boll was the head coach of Wheelersburg since 1986 before retiring in 2015. His career record is 400-102-41. His team finished as Regional Runner-Up in 1994. During his tenure at Wheelersburg, he has captured 14 league titles and seven District Championships.

The Portsmouth, Ohio native has produced 15 District Players of the Year and 14 All-Region Selections. Boll, a graduate of Ohio University, has spent his entire career as a science teacher. He holds a Master of Education Degree from Miami University.

Not only has Boll been a successful coach but has been a servant to Ohio high school soccer as well. Boll served as a State Poll voter for 20 years. As President of SEOSSCA for 15 years (1995-2010), he sat on the OSSCA State Board.

Boll is married and has five children, Shawn, Brenda, Sarah, Jessica and Matthew. He coached each one at Wheelersburg. He has 11 grandchildren.

Boll will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame at the OSSCA yearly banquet in Columbus, on January 7th.

The applications for Scholarships for Convention, Education, and Host-A-Course are now open! Take this opportunity to apply for Convention, education, and host-a-course scholarships to further your coaching education. 

Application Requirements:

  • Current United Soccer Coaches Member
  • Committed to the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the game of soccer
  • Dedicated to serving the needs of under-served groups or communities
  • Dedicated to serving the development of minority coaches
  • Have a demonstrable financial need
  • Be 18+ at the time of applying
  • Should applicant be selected for a scholarship, they commit to using the award by 12/31/2023
